
Off-Grid Solar
SunErgy AS [website] is a Norwegian company dedicated to providing communities in emerging markets with off grid solar power through turnkey small-scale solar power plants shipped from the Nordics in containers and connected directly to the houses through own grid.
In May 2012, the company entered into a Protocol Agreement with the Republic of Cameroon on providing ninety-two villages with some 115,000 families or 600,000 people, plus schools, health centers, private and public enterprises, etc..
The corporate vision is to give people an opportunity to escape poverty. Electricity offers access to the outside world through cable television, internet and mobile phones, offering a host of new business opportunities and the possibility of a better future and brighter life.
On August 20th, 2019, the company opened the 5th village in Cameroon Matouke Town and Matouke New Lay out: video.
It also cooperates with Nordic Entrepreneurship Institute and 2 Mites on entrepreneurship training and micro financing; receiving economic support from the Norwegian Agency for Development and Cooperation.
SunErgy is also a member of the Norwegian African Business Association, NORWEP, a Norwegian organization dedicated to promoting renewable energy in international markets and also cooperates with Lighting Africa, the International Finance Corporation and World Bank.
In Cameroon, the company has a working relationship with Pan-African Institute for Development, an international Swiss based NGO, which has been active on the continent and Cameroon since 1964.
