Renewables
[Awaiting corporate approval to join the GCPP portfolio and investor submission]
RWE [website], headquartered in Sweden, is one of the biggest energy suppliers in the EU. The company just launched RWE Renewables to become a strong partner on the path to a cleaner energy future.
RWE Renewables Sweden AB; RWE Renewables Italia S.r.l.; RWE Renewables GmbH (Germany); RWE Energie Odnawialne Sp. z o.o. (Poland); RWE Renewables UK Limited; RWE Renewables Americas LLC (California, Texas, Illinois); and RWE Renewables Japan G.K.
The company covers the entire spectrum of secure and clean power generation - with flexible conventional power plants and hydropower plants; plus operating wind farms and solar plants. It is now also focusing on storage units, gas-fired power plants that are primarily run on "green" gas and biomass using pellets made from compressed wood which are burned in its Dutch power plants in Eemshaven and Amer (the wood gasification plant largest in Europe - the relevant agreements have already been made within the National Energy Agreement in the Netherlands).
Its domestic and international customers also draw on extensive expertise in power plant construction, modernisation, retrofitting, auditing and repairs.
Solar
With over one gigawatt of solar energy currently in operation and in development, RWE is well positioned to continue to use its experience as a provider and independent power producer to deliver top-quality solar energy projects. Because this market will grow exponentially in the next few years, with its subsidiary Belectric, it is able to act globally to develop and construct solar power plants and energy storage systems.
Wind
RWE Renewables has first-class resources, experience and expertise that covers the entire value chain of wind energy from development to construction and operation. The company built onshore wind farms with a capacity of several gigawatts in Europe and the USA. In Texas it operates wind farms which are among the largest in the United States. In addition, there are offshore wind farms with enormous generation capacity in European waters, such as the one off the island of RĂ¼gen, which has been supplying up to 400,000 households with renewable energy since 2019.
